This is the beta site. It is being built, and the one chapter you can read here is demo content.
Collaborative Tutorial Resources Initiative

Free textbooks for every student.

Open, step-by-step books for WAEC, JAMB and NECO. Volunteers write them in plain language, and people review them before we release them.

Why CTRI

Three things get in a student's way. We work on all three.

Cost

Good textbooks exist, but many families cannot afford them. Every CTRI book is free to read, download and print.

Context

Free books are often written for students somewhere else. Ours are written for Nigerian classrooms, with examples students recognise.

Register

Formal language can be a barrier. We write the way a good teacher explains, then show how the exam asks the question.

How a chapter is made

Written by volunteers. Checked by people. Released on purpose.

1

Write

A volunteer writes a topic: the idea, a picture or story, worked examples and practice questions.

2

Review

Two different reviewers read it against sources. Nothing is released without review.

3

Release

An editor releases the chapter with a version number and a note on what changed. Old versions are kept as PDFs.
