This is the beta site. It is being built, and the one chapter you can read here is demo content.

Volunteer with us.
CTRI is built by people who care. If you have skills that can help us build better textbooks, we want to hear from you.
5 roles open right now
Open roles
What we need right now.
Each role has a clear scope and a direct effect on the books students will use. Give what you can: a few hours a week makes a real difference.
Agricultural Science
Agriculture Content Contributor
3–5 hours per week
Content Contributors are helping build the foundation of a WAEC-aligned Agriculture learning resource. Right now, the work is analytical: reviewing past WAEC Agriculture questions from 1988 to date to understand what the resource must cover, at what depth, and at what level of thinking. This role suits someone who knows their Agric, reads carefully, and can think critically about how questions are structured and what they demand of students.
What you will do
Review and categorise WAEC Agriculture past questions by topic
Analyse questions by cognitive level to map what the resource must address
Contribute to discussions on textbook structure, depth, tone, and examples grounded in real WAEC patterns
Draft first versions of explanations, solved examples, and practice questions
Test content clarity by ensuring every concept is accessible to any SSS student
The Curriculum Planning team decides what goes into the CTRI Mathematics learning resources and problem bank — which topics, at what difficulty level, and in what order — and communicates that clearly to the rest of the team. This role suits someone who knows the Nigerian SSS Mathematics curriculum well, thinks in sequences, and is organised enough to keep a production pipeline moving.
What you will do
Plan how concepts and topics should be sequenced across CTRI Mathematics resources
Review the problem bank regularly and identify gaps in topic and difficulty coverage
Specify what new problems are needed and log them in the Problem Request Sheet
Brief the Problem Designer when custom problems are required
Monitor the production pipeline and flag bottlenecks to the team coordinator
Problem Designers write original mathematics problems for the CTRI problem bank. This is a creative and technical role that suits someone who is strong at SSS Mathematics, writes with precision, and enjoys thinking about what makes a problem interesting, fair, and well-pitched. We will show you exactly how we want problems formatted and logged.
What you will do
Write original mathematics problems based on topic and difficulty specifications
Ensure each problem is clear, unambiguous, and has a unique correct answer
Apply real-world or contextual framing where it adds value
Log completed problems in the Problem Request Sheet for handoff to Problem Solvers
Problem Solvers work through assigned mathematics problems by hand and submit complete, step-by-step solutions for typesetting. This role is the engine of the CTRI problem bank. It suits someone who is strong across the SSS Mathematics curriculum, thorough in showing their working, and writes legibly. All you need is a smartphone to scan your work — we handle the rest.
What you will do
Pick up assigned problems each week and work through them step by step on paper
Show all working clearly — no skipped steps
Scan completed solutions and upload them to the correct Google Drive folder
Update the Problem Request Sheet to show your work is ready for the next stage
Mathematics Typesetters turn handwritten solutions into clean, professionally typeset documents ready for the open textbook. This role suits someone meticulous, patient, and comfortable learning technical tools. The role will require you to learn LaTeX if you're not already familiar with it. A laptop is required.
What you will do
Take scanned handwritten solutions and reproduce them as clean typeset documents
Typeset mathematical equations and step-by-step working accurately
Draw geometric figures, graphs, and diagrams using TikZ
Follow CTRI formatting standards and submit files for review
We welcome educators, subject specialists, designers, editors and anyone who shares our hope that every student can learn from a good book. Write to us and tell us what you can offer.
You do not need to be part of the CFK Fellowship to volunteer with CTRI. If you would also like a longer journey, with progression, recognition and a community of young Nigerians doing good work, the CFK Fellowship would be glad to meet you.

A gift pays for writing sprints, reference materials and the work of getting these books to students who cannot easily go online. We will tell you how it was used.
