This is the beta site. It is being built, and the one chapter you can read here is demo content.
A short guide

How to read our books

The same small signs appear in every CTRI book. Learn them once and every page becomes easier to use.

Key idea
The one thing to remember from a section. If you remember nothing else, remember this.
Worked example
A problem solved step by step. Read it slowly, then cover the solution and try it yourself.
Story
A short story or real-life picture that makes an idea easier to hold in your mind.
Question
Your turn. Some say how many marks they carry, some say "Multiple choice", and some say which exam they came from.
Need a hint?
A small nudge, without giving the answer away. Try it before you look at the solution.
Show solution
The full working, kept out of sight so you can try first.
Outcome 2
This example or question helps you practise the outcome with that number. The outcomes are listed once at the start of each chapter, under "By the end of this chapter you can". At the end of the chapter, "Can you do these now?" lets you check yourself.
1
A small raised number is a footnote: a little extra information about the word or sentence before it.

Most signs have a name beside them, so you never have to guess. In the web version, hover over (or tap) an outcome sign to see exactly what it stands for.
